The new Flexenbahn lift opened in the winter season 2016/17 and, with the Arlberg connecting lift between Zürs and Stuben/Rauz, the circle is now complete. You’ll reap the benefits whilst skiing and can now easily reach all the places on skis. The Arlberg has thus become the largest interconnected ski resort in Austria. This is something we’re proud of.
Between 1,300 and 2,800 metres altitude lies a winter sports eldorado bursting with superlatives. The scenic variety alone is breathtaking: to the north the mighty limestone pre-Alps; to the south the giant igneous peaks of the main alpine chain; and, set in between them, like a jewel, is the little Walser village of Lech Zürs, equipped with the very latest in state-of-the-art technical winter sports facilities.
97 lifts and cable cars, 350 kilometres of ski pistes and 200 kilometres of high altitude powder runs ensure a virtually limitless choice of unrivalled skiing and snow-boarding.
Powder slopes, blue, red and black runs, plus the Kinderland children's area provide perfect conditions to suit every ability and taste, not to forget the reliable snow conditions from November to April. Seven ski schools with a total of approx. 800 professional snow sports instructors organise courses for everyone, from winter sports greenhorns to advanced lifelong skiers.
The Ski-Arlberg card entitles skiers and snowboarders to unlimited use of all the lifts and cable cars in Lech Zürs, including those of the neighbouring villages. This is why Lech Zürs is the absolute top choice as a location for your precious winter sports holiday. It's a no-brainer! And once you've been once, you'll be back - time after time!
Although 41 per cent of the pistes are classified as suitable for beginners, there's still a huge amount of choice for those skiers and snow-boarders seeking more of a challenge. Lech Zürs offers unrivalled powder skiing possibilities. Hardly anywhere else in the Alps even comes close to matching the superlative selection of off-piste skiing available here.
Ski tourers head off through pristine natural countryside, enjoying the variety of stunningly beautiful scenery on the climb up, and swinging down through the glistening powder snow on their way back to the valley.
Since the winter 2013/14 the Auenfeldjet, a two kilometre long 10-man gondola cable car, links the Lech Zürs ski area with that of Warth-Schröcken.
As a result, situated in a region with one of the best snow records in the Alps, we on the Arlberg are now the largest ski area in Vorarlberg. The 47 lifts and cable cars, plus 180 kilometres of ski runs, ensure unrivalled winter sports possibilities of virtually unlimited variety. Casual skiers find conditions here as much to their taste as do ambitious, demanding top athletes. Sustainability, conservation of resources and maximum consideration for the environment all played a key role in the construction of the Auenfeldjet: a perfect example of the smooth connection of two ski areas.
